Bouncing back

Today started with the lovely sound of Leila meewing that she is starving to death.  I think all cat owners will understand that miaow, but in case anyone doesn’t it just means that it is nearly breakfast time and she is hungry.  I’m pretty sure starvation is days away, but Leila isn’t so sure.  I haven’t heard it for almost a week so I was very happy. Leila has a lot more energy today and has wanted to be out of her box and play with some cat toys.  She didn’t sleep as much today as yesterday.  The recovery is going well.

I have noticed that she is using her bad leg less than she was, but then I haven’t done any physio since she has been sick and she hasn’t been moving as much either.  I did some work with her today and hopefully being more mobile will help get us back on track with that recovery.  She doesn’t seem to be in any pain from it so I’m not too worried, and I did see her using it a bit and also putting weight on it when she was washing.

Just a short post this time.  Overall we are very happy – all four of us!

  1. Keep these good updates coming!

So glad Leila has her appetite back. I know hearing her ask for breakfast was a beautiful sound!

She’ll get her strength back and start using her leg a little more. She was really out if it for a few days and I’m sure all that “whatever it was” tired her out a lot.

We are all relieved for you and Leila, and very, very happy!

    Kitty hugs to all!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

  2. Happy is GREAT!! I know it’s been a few days since your post but I’m just catching up now and hope that things have progressed even more.

Isn’t it funny, once you face a situation like this, all those demands like ‘I’M HUNGRY AND I WANT TO EAT!!” are suddenly so sweet. We learn to not take anything for granted once we go through something like this, and become even closer because of it. Leila is a great teacher!
